Diana Croft
Diana Croft is a painter and printmaker who now specialises in linocuts ( having previously produced many Collagraph prints) inspired by nature and the landscape. The prints are often stylised representations of landscapes particularly the South Downs and have a strong sense of pattern and design.
Recent work has been concentrated on reduction linocuts where she enjoys the technical challenge of the process.
Work done over the lockdown period reflected a reduced horizon with images focusing on gardens, parks and allotments when we were prevented from going further afield.
More recent work has been inspired by her recent travels to Chile and Argentina resulting in her complex reduction linocut ’Patagonia’ which reflects the folk art of the country as well as the dramatic landscape. A visit to Spain has inspired the two linocuts ‘Southern Fields’ and ‘The Road South’
