Tim Major
Tim Major was awarded ‘Most outstanding Printmaker under the age of 30’ at the National Original Print Exhibition at the Mall Galleries. He has also exhibited at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Society of British Artists and The Society of Wildlife Artists, and at the Bankside Gallery.
A keen amatuer Naturalist, Tim has produced a series of fifteen etchings and aquatints depicting each species of British raptor, and having enjoyed gothic horror from a young age, a suite of six etchings based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. Other prints are surreal or topical. His interest in Cryptozoology has led to recent prints of mythological beasts and folklore. Tim has drawn for numerous publications including The Observer, Sunday Times magazine, New Statesman, Country Life, GQ, Loaded and The Critic. Other Illustration clients have included ING bank and Agent Provocateur, and he has worked as a story-board artist at Saatchi Advertising. Tim studied Illustration at Exeter College of Art and Design and Etching at Putney School of Art.
